How did the IFCC come into existence?

Bishop Smith was in Atlanta, Georgia several years ago (in September of the late 1990’s) participating in an anniversary celebration of the Flames of Fire Ministries (Bishop Michael & Pastor Gwen Leach). It was a high celebration in the Spirit and the rewards spiritually were outstanding.

Shortly after one of the meetings, many of us met in the home of (now) Elder Carolyn Leach (Bishop Michael’s sister) for refreshments and fellowship. While enjoying our time there, Bishop Gregory Dorsey (Cleveland, Ohio), one the celebration speakers, asked Bishop Smith to be his ‘spiritual covering’. The same request was immediately also made by Bishop Michael Leach. Believing in his spirit that it was God who initiated both requests Bishop Smith immediately responded, ‘yes’. Prior to that event, he was spiritually covering no one, although he knew that it would change.

Shortly after the celebration in Atlanta, Bishop Smith met with Bishop Michael and Pastor Gwen in their home. It was during that home visit that (by the Spirit of the Lord) it was decided to call the new corporate spiritual body: The International Fellowship of Christian Churches (IFCC), recognizing Bishop M. Neville A. Smith as the founding Overseer and Bishop.

Clearly, the presence of the Lord was evident in both places of residence when the two events took place as described above. In confidence and by holy influence the IFCC was birthed by the Grace of God.
